Christian Women Forced to Have Abortions by Chinese Government; Immediate International Intervention Urged
China Aid AssociationMidland, Texas -- China Aid Association has learned that a massive forced abortion campaign is ongoing in China’s Guangxi Province. One Christian lady, Ms. Linrong Wei, 7 months preganent, was dragged into the hospital from her home on April 17 at 8:45 AM by ten officials from the Population and Family Planning Commsssion in Baise City, Guangxi. Her husband Yage “James” Liang was formerly a pastor in the government-sanctioned TSPM church before he became a House church pastor a year ago. CAA has also learned a Christian woman in Laiyang city, Shandong province is facing a forced abortion. Ms. Hui Xu, 39, became pregant with her second child accidentally 6 months ago. She and her husband are now facing increasing pressure from the local family planning office to have abortion either volunterarily or coersively. Full story...

BEIJING -- China is likely to ink huge import deals, possibly amounting to US$12 billion, with the United States during the second Sino-American strategic economic dialogue next month, in a move to narrow the trade gap. The talks, which will be co-chaired by Vice Premier Wu Yi and US Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, are the highest-profile dialogue mechanism over economic issues between the two countries. A proposed procurement delegation, likely to be led by Vice Minister of Commerce Ma Xiuhong, will cover a wide range of US agricultural and industrial products, from soybean and cotton manufacturing machinery to electronic goods. The delegation will visit Atlanta, Chicago, San Francisco and Washington.
