Bush: Throw More Money at HIV/AIDS Pandemic

WASHINGTON -- President Bush marked Worlds AIDS Day on Friday by declaring: "The pandemic of HIV/AIDS can be defeated." The Bush initiative committed $15 billion over five years to support treatment for 2 million people, prevention for 7 million and care for 10 million. The White House says that today, more than 800,000 people are receiving lifesaving drugs. Bush also urged Congress to reauthorize the $2.1 billion Ryan White Care Act, the largest federal program specifically for people with HIV/AIDS. Full story...

Again and again, President G. W. Bush has betrayed the pro-life cause. The latest example is his push for $15 billion in U.S. tax dollars to be sent to Africa for A.I.D.S prevention. According to British sources, "President George W. Bush dismissed a bid by conservative Christians to restrict his $15 billion foreign initiative to fight A.I.D.S. to only those programs that reject abortion and promote abstinence." In other words, Bush proposes to send federal dollars to those organizations that promote abortion and promiscuity.
