NH House Passes Abortifacient Contraception Bill

CONCORD, New Hampshire – For the second straight year, the state Legislative has endorsed letting females of any age obtain emergency contraception pills without a doctor’s prescription. The difference this year is that Gov. John Lynch, a Democrat, has said he will sign the bill. “I am pro-choice, and I also believe we must work together to reduce the need for abortions. Emergency contraception is a safe and effective way to do that,” Lynch said in a statement. Bedford Republican Rep. Ken Hawkins said there is no limit on the frequency or the dosage that someone could obtain. Posted by Editor at May 27, 2005 08:14 AM
