House Panel Advances Abortion Consent Bill

AUSTIN -- A Senate bill that would require girls to get a parent's written consent before getting an abortion was quickly moved through a House committee Thursday. Just one day after the Senate approved the measure, the House State Affairs committee voted 5-1 to report the bill favorably to the full chamber. The bill could be debated as early as Sunday.
