DOLTON, Ill. -- A pregnant mother was closing the Family Dollar Store in Dolton Illinois on Monday when a man came into the store and fired twice, wounding the woman. Her husband intervened and struggled with the man over the weapon. Two more shots were fired, wounding the man who had shot his wife. He ran 300 to 400 feet before collapsing in a parking lot. The pregnant mother was taken to St. James where she was in a "stable" condition early Tuesday. Her unborn child also appeared to be safe.
