AUSTIN -- Lawmakers want more details about the number of young women seeking a judge's "permission" to get an abortion without telling their parents. House Bill 2997 by Rep. Geanie Morrison, R-Victoria, would require the Texas Supreme Court to report information relating to the number of judicial bypasses filed and whether they were approved or denied. It also would require physicians to report the number of abortions they perform and any ensuing complications.
