RU-486 WARNING! Label

FDA To Announce Labeling Changes for Mifepristone
ROCKVILLE, Md. -- The Food and Drug Administration will announce today important new safety changes to the Danco Laboratories, LLC's labeling of mifepristone (trade name Mifeprex, also known as RU-486). FDA and Danco Laboratories have received reports of serious bacterial infection, bleeding, ectopic pregnancies that have ruptured, and death, including another death from sepsis that was recently reported to FDA. These reports have led to the revision of the black box labeling. The new warnings to health care providers and consumers include changes to the existing black box on the product to add new information on the risk of serious bacterial infections, sepsis, and bleeding and death that may occur following any termination of pregnancy, including use of Mifeprex.

Groups Renew Pressure to Bar RU-486

RU-486 has become a renewed target for influential pressure groups who want the Food and Drug Administration to suspend its use. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the pills in September 2000. Under the brand name Mifeprex, the pills are distributed by the New York-based Danco Laboratories LLC and sold only to doctors or other clinicians who are trained in their usage. They are now available through doctors' offices or clinics in every state. Since 2000, 280,000 women in the United States have made the choice to have nonsurgical abortions in the first seven to nine weeks of pregnancy.

Bush allows nationwide distribution of RU-486
In 2001 the Bush administration allowed the nationwide distribution and use of RU-486 under each States' existing abortion laws. RU-486 was approved under President Clinton and is being distributed by George W. Bush -- the biggest baby murdering President in the history of the United States!
