“The Bush administration announced yesterday it will withhold a $34 million payment from the United Nations Population Fund to China over the issue of forced abortions.” WorldNetDaily, July 17th. The first reaction of many upon hearing that would be, “Well see, there you go. We’ve been telling you all along that Bush is pro-life. Just think what Kerry would have done. He would have raised China’s abortion payment!” ... The real shocker in this story is the fact that American taxpayers unwittingly donate $400 million every year to the international child-killing industry. During the four years of Bush’s first (and last) term, we will have given away over $1.5 billion for the express purpose of murdering children in every corner of the planet! "The Bush administration said yesterday that it will not pay the $34 million Congress has earmarked for U.N. family-planning programs overseas, a population-control initiative that conservative groups say tolerates abortions and forces sterilizations in China. (But) Richard Boucher, State Department spokesman said the $34 million Congress appropriated in December 2001 will instead be spent through the U.S. Agency for International Development and noted that this will bring to $480.5 million the total spent by the United States this year on population programs worldwide."

(Editor's note: This is the way it works folks. Both House and Senate Republicans compromised back in December 2001 by adding the $34m U.N. funding to the Foreign Appropriations Bill for fiscal-year 2002. When the Republicans passed the Appropriations Bill, as planned, Bush froze the $34m U.N. funding in January 2002 so he would receive a "pro-life persona" from the secular media.
