Man Found 'Guilty' in Unborn Child Murder Case!
Matthew Bullock Found Guilty in Murder of Pregnant Girlfriend and Unborn Child
The verict for a Wilkes-Barre man on trial for murder is in. A jury found Matthew Bullock guilty of third degree murder with mental illness for the strangulation death of his pregnant girlfriend Lisa Hargrave. He was also found guilty of voluntary manslaughter with mental illness for the murder of his unborn child. The jury reached their decision just after four [yesterday] afternoon. Sentencing is set for November 17th but there will be a hearing prior to that to determine the status of Bullock's mental illness.. and if he is competant to serve time in a prison.
Trial for Fetus' Murder Closing
WILKES-BARRE, PA (October 28) — Closing arguments are expected in Luzerne County Court today in the murder trial of Matthew Bullock.
Bullock is on trial in the killing of Lisa Hargrave and her fetus on New Year's Day. Hargrave was six months pregnant at the time. The defense called a rebuttal witness, Dr. Robert Sadoff, who interviewed Bullock after the crime, then rested its case yesterday. Bullock claims he was mentally ill when he strangled Hargrave and stuffed her body in a closet. He claims his mental illness stems from the time he was sexually assaulted by a step-brother when he was five years old.
Bullock's Half Brother Labels
Charges 'Malicious, Untrue'
The half brother of convicted murderer Matthew Bullock Tuesday denied that he ever sexually abused his half brother, contrary to testimony that came out during Matthew's murder trial in Luzerne County Court. Brock Bullock, through his local counsel, attorney Peter Moses, issued a statement branding the allegations about him "malicious and untrue in all regards."
