Aiding and Abating Abortion Seekers

A network of women in New York provides temporary shelter to women who have no where to stay while they are in the city to undergo second-trimester abortions. Shauna Shames often lets complete strangers sleep on her New York sofa bed. She cooks for them too. And she quietly arranges for others in the city to do the same.
